How are GION products made?

All GION products are designed at the workshop in Budapest by an extremely experienced craftsmen and his staff. The leather items are always made from hides of the highest quality.

How are the GION collections designed?

Yet GION doesn't uses the idea of Autumn/Winter and Spring/Summer collections on the leather market. But since it was founded GION has developed new creations each season: original creations, new functions or formats for an existing family or new leathers or colours for existing models. The result of this unique approach is close to 300 original creations. This philosophy of creation and production allows us to guarantee each customer that, with the exception of a few bestsellers which have stood the test of time, each item is one of an extremely limited edition.

Is GION a family business?

The brand was founded in 1997, based on a strong family business with more than 3 and a half decades of expertness.

Can I order a bespoke item from GION?

Yes, we will gladly work with you and help you to create a unique bag or object. In order to create your bespoke item, please contact us.

How can I take care of my GION goods?

If you buy one of our product you'll get a direction for use and care. Please note that you have to take care of these advices to preserve the condition of your good(s).However you'll get any problem or have questions don't hesitate to contact us. Our After-Sales Service is an essential part of the company and its main mission is to prolong the life of existing products. Depending on how they are used and the kind of life they lead, one or the other element may need to be adjusted, repaired of refurbished. You can take any GION products which need to be repair or renovation into any GION shop.

Where can I go if my bag needs repair?

Our sales staff will be able to tell you how much the work will cost, and will keep you informed about the timing. GION is very proud of its after-sales service and we believe you will be delighted by what it can offer.Please take into account that the leather is a living structure and have to take care of it! In each case if you buy one of our goods you'll get some instructions how to handle them. There are various care products you can use but it should never be shoe cream - it may leave spot on the product and can discolour your clothes!

Are GION products really handmade?

The values of GION are built upon the fact that our products are all carefully handmade by real craftsmen using traditional leatherworking techniques. We design the product, the branding and control the production, customer service and packing the orders is all done by us.

What kind of materials do GION uses?

At GION products are made from vegetable tanned leathers from Italy. Most of the leathers we use come from young calves/cattles or buffalo, some designs use hides from goats, sheeps or exotic skins (eel, snake, lizard, alligator, ostrich, ray or shark).The choice of the type of leather depends on the precise way in which it will be used. In every instance, at GION, only leather of the highest quality is used. Our craftsmen's passion and expertise is visible not only in the choice of leather, but also in the cut. Only the most beautiful and supple parts are used for the items. There are stable colours and types of hides (usually black, brown, beige, cognac, white) but many of them are unique. It calls forth you'll have one from the limited edition hides. If you cannot make a decision by checking the photos we can send you a piece of leather by post. May the colours seem different on the screen?

We have made every effort to display as accurately as possible the colours of our products that appear on the website. However, as the actual colours you see will depend on your monitor, we cannot guarantee that your monitor's display of any colour will accurately reflect the colour of the product on delivery.If you cannot make a decision by checking the photos we can send you a piece of leather by post. If you need this please contact us.

Where can I buy GION products?

In Budapest the products are sold in our showroom or at retailers.

How can I pay for my order?

Using PayPal is the fastest and saftest way of paying. It accepts all major credit cards. IMPORTANT: you don't need a PayPal account to purchase an item, you can also pay with your credit card through PayPal.

Payment is only debited from your card at time of dispatch. Payments made by credit card will appear on your statement as GION purchase.

If the mentioned payment methods aren't acceptable for you or have any problem, please contact us and as far as our best, we'll help you.

I have just placed my order, what happens next?

We will start processing your order here at GION in Budapest, Hungary. As long as the goods are in stock, we'll pack them up carefully within three working days and send it off with the shipping company.

If you decide you want to change or add products to your order, we'll have to cancel it and then ask that you place a new order. In most cases, it won't be possible to change your order as it will have already been processed for shipping.

How much time does it take to get my product?

We will start processing your order here at GION in Budapest, Hungary. As long as the goods are in stock, we'll pack them up carefully within three working days and send it off with the shipping company. It takes just a few days to deliver your order (altogether about 1-3 working days in Hungary).

Orders shipped with FedEx are insured. Shipping times given are estimates and are not guaranteed and don't include the endurance of the clearance procedure.

Can I track my order?

If your order has shipped with FedEx you will receive a tracking number. International orders shipped through the post, cannot be tracked online.

How much does shipping cost?

Shipping costs is free to each country.

Store pickup is also possible and free in Hungary. In this case, please note us and we will make an appointment.

Do you ship worldwide?

We ship GION goods all over the world. You can order with confidence, safe in the knowledge that we'll do our best to get your goods to you as quick as we can. We have unbeatable rates with FedEx and it takes just a few days to deliver your order, wherever you are.

For larger orders outside the EU (if you don't mind waiting and don't need insurance), we give you the option to ship with the post. Usually the package will be with you within 1 week but it could take up to 2 weeks or more, delays can occur in transit. Orders shipped with FedEx are insured, orders shipped through the post are not insured and the delivery is at your own risk. Shipping times given are estimates, are not guaranteed and don’t include the endurance of the clearance procedure.

Please always check the shipping address! If you want to change it after you placed the order please contact us. In most cases, it won't be possible to change your shipping address as it will have already been processed for shipping.

If your shipping destination is not available somehow, please contact us.

Do I have to pay tax or important fees?

Due to the international nature of our business all the prices on this website are displayed without tax. When you make an order in any of our e-shop by checkout we display the total product prices excluding shipping. If your delivery address is within the EU, 27% VAT will be applied at the checkout (before you complete your payment). Product prices for all other destinations do not include VAT.

WORLDWIDE CUSTOMERS: The small goods (everything except bags and leather laptop sleeves) usually do NOT go through customs and you won't have to pay any further fees. Larger goods usually go through customs and you will have to pay import fees and taxes on receipt. We cannot take responsibility for the unique or local taxes which may arise in your country at an international order - in each case you have to pay the additional costs. The rules and regulations vary from country to country and state to state, so please contact your customs office for further details.

Whats your return policy?

In the unlikely event that you are not happy with your goods, please email us within 14 working days. Your return must be dispatched within 7 days from receiving the delivery. We will let you know how to go ahead with the return. Once the goods and its receipt are returned to us in an original and unused condition we will give you a full refund for the goods through PayPal. If the goods are injured sadly we cannot refund its price. Any associated shipping costs or fees are not refundable (even if the product was free).

Please note that returns from outside the EU are subject to a EUR 20 surcharge which covers customs clearance fees when applicable.
